Background:

The International Association for Solidarity (SHIS) is an Albanian ONG founded in 1998 and officially recognized by Tirana’s Court of Justice through decision no. 2514 on 24th June, 1998 with Nipt Code J91713019 B. Its mission is to promote and implement development educational programs in harmony with local and national policies.

SHIS is specialized in implementing educational development projects related with: local and central education institutions empowerment, educative staff capacity building, women entrepreneurship, awareness raising for parents and communities, prevention of school drop out for most in risk children, implementing of the school as e communities centre approach, research and social services

 

From January 2020 SHIS has started an post emergency project focused in the areas of Durrës, Lezha and Tirana supporting the population affected by the earthquake of 26 November. For the project purpose SHIS is seeking 2 social worker/psychologist who will work within the schools selected in the three targeted areas and will be responsible for key aspects of project implementation.

The social worker/psychologist should carry out the responsibilities described below independently, with minimum supervision, but also in the context of a professional project team.

 

Duties/responsibilities

•In collaboration with the multidisciplinary group plan and implement after school activities with children within the selected schools in the targeted areas

•In collaboration with local stakeholders identify, assesses and monitor families affected by the earth quake who will be potential beneficiaries of the food, clothes and hygiene kit to provide by the project

•Informs and counsels the families on the services at municipality level in order for them to benefit from an integrated support that responds to their needs;

•Support the families with an empowering approach through the implementation of the individual plan of intervention for the family, while continuously counselling them based on the specific needs;

•Coordinate and organize the promotion and prevention activities with the community;

•Be active in the operating area through outreach work, family visits, participating in community gatherings as well as in the interactions with key stakeholders in the respective components of implementation;

 

Requirements:

•A Bachelor degree in Social Sciences Univeristy

•Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with vulnerable beneficiaries, especially related to social service delivery

•Previous work experience with children, teachers and community groups

•Previous work experiences with NGOs and civil society projects

•Very good communication and collaboration skills

•Proactive, energetic and with the ability to work autonomously

•Good knowledge of English language is required for this position

•Being part of the Psychologist Order in Albania will be a plus for the person who will be interested for the psychologist vacancies.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
