To prevent illegal immigration through promoting education and family strengthening

 

The project “To prevent illegal immigration through promoting education and family strengthening” is implementing by the International Association for Solidarity (SHIS) under the Sub-Granting Scheme of the project "Support to the Projects of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) ) - SEE Social Service Providers ” funded by the European Union and implemented by IRIS NETWORK.

This project has a duration of 9 months and it will be implemented in the area of Kombinat, Tirana. The overall objective is "To prevent illegal immigration of young people by promoting education and family empowerment". To realize this, work will be done on accessing the school as a friendly place for young people. Where by improving and enhancing the capacities of the pedagogical staff of the school will enable the empowerment of family and education of young people as two important pillars for the prevention of illegal immigration in the area”.

 

Planned activities:

1.Training sessions for the pedagogical staff of the "Myslym Keta" high school, on issues related to accessing the school as a friendly place for all, on new methodologies, positive communication and acceptance of all students as equals human being.

2.Awareness raising campaigns with parents focused on enhancing their knowledge about child well-being, social services provided by the state and the consequences of illegal immigration.

3.Creating youth clubs within the high school to actively engage the students in social, sportive and cultural activities in order to enhance their peer-to-peer collaboration.

Through the students clubs we aim to:

·Create a youth advocacy group, which will be set up to advocate for children’s rights in the local government of the area.

·To put on stage a theatrical play by a group of students , to raise awareness of the illegal migration  of the young people.

·To organize an awareness exhibition with paintings and photographs prepared by the students of the “Myslym Keta” high School.

·Create short videos in order to spread positive messages and present them on SHIS's Facebook account.

4.Conduct a final conference on project outcomes.

    720 (individuals, schools and businesses)

    35 educational subjects distributed throughout the country
