"Promoting Education to Address and Counter Violent Extremism"
PEACE - "Promoting Education to Address and Counter Violent Extremism" is the tittle of a project aiming to build youth resilience to violent extremism, through promoting education and strengthening the “School as a community center” approach. This project is going to be implemented by Shoqata Internacionale per Solidaritetin (SHIS) within the Administrative Unit nr 6 (Kombinat) in Tirana during the February – November 2018, with objective “To develop capacities and encourage the participation of the local stakeholders in coordinated action to prevent the radicalization and violent extremism. In order to reach this objective, various activities are planned, like:
· Round tables with key stakeholders from local public institutions, schools, CSOs and religious leaders of Kombinat area.
Training session for pedagogical and managerial staff of the “Myslym Keta” High school and follow up meetings.
Educational and artistic activities with the high school students (creation of a theatre part, painting and photographic exhibition and short videos to be published in social media in order to spread messages of positive tolerance, and youth enjoyment
· A final conference on project results and recommendations
This Project is developed in the framework of sub- granting schema of the project “Strengthening Civil Society to build Youth Resilience to Counter Violent Extremism” financed by EU and implemented by Terre des hommes Foundation Mission in Albania in partnership with ISD, CCG and Beder University.
